Navarra continues among the Autonomous Communities that have the most donors. Having an average of 70.3, much higher than the state average, 46.9

Dolors Montserrat, Minister of the National Transplant Organization (ONT), affirms that Spain is breaking records at the world level and that it will continue to be that way. Navarra is in the third position in the national ranking, the same as does the Basque Autonomous Community. These two communities are behind Cantabria and La Rioja that are in the first and second place.
In Spain in 2017, there were 45 donors which is 15.4% more than in 2016, which was 39.
Transplants in Navarra have increased, both in donation in asystole, which means that the donor has stopped heart, which increased 36.6%, as donations in brain death, which grew up by 7.14%.
Talking about the waiting lists, it is said that they have improved considerably. In 2017, there were 47 people waiting for a kidney transplant, 5 for one heart, 2 for a kidney-pancreas and 3 for a liver; In the previous years it has diminished notably, since there are 19 people waiting for a kidney, 3 a heart and finally 3 a liver.
The minister said that the ONT is already working on the 50X22 project, which aims to get 50 donors per million and in 2022, 5,500 donors.
